The benefits of regular exercise are vast and far reaching. In general terms you will improve strength, flexibility, cardiovascular function, relieve stress, increase longevity, improve mood, and increase self image.

What are the benefits of cardiovascular/aerobic exercise?
The benefits of cardiovascular exercise are primarily to the cardiovascular system. Your heart becomes stronger and more efficient while your blood vessels and arteries become more supple. You will also realize improved stamina and energy and that's just to mention a few of the benefits.

What are the benefits of resistance training/weights?
The benefits you receive from resistance or weight training include: improved strength, leaner muscles, defined look, healthier appearance as well as increased bone density. Load bearing exercises are great for women because they reduce the likelihood of developing Osteoporosis. Leaner muscles burn more calories through a normal day which helps in stabilize weight gain.

How often should I exercise?
Cardiovascular/aerobic exercise for 30 minutes a day should be done on most days while resistance exercise should be performed 2-3 days per week for about 30 minutes.

How long should I exercise?
It all depends on your fitness level however, no more than 30 minutes is required to realize the benefits of a regular exercise program.

How intense/hard should I exercise?
As your fitness level increases your intensity level should increase accordingly. High intensity in not necessary to realize the benefits of exercise. It is more consistence than intensity that gets the best results. Keep in mind.....your exercise routine must be challenging.

What time of day should I exercise?
The best time to exercise is a time that consistently fits into your schedule. Having a specific time set aside to exercise is the most important factor.

Is it to late to start exercising?
It's never to late to start exercising, even if you've never exercised before. Because a program starts at your fitness level and gradually increases. Everyone no matter what their age can benefit from regular exercise habits.

How old is to old to exercise?
Most people are capable of some form of regular exercise no matter what their age. Ask your doctor for a check up before beginning an exercise program.

Should I exercise if I'm pregnant?
Exercising throughout a pregnancy is very common and healthy for both the mother and baby. It is not always recommended to start an exercise program while pregnant however, if you have been exercising regularly when you became pregnant you shouldn't have any problems continuing. Please ask your doctor for any specific restrictions.
